Susan Gonzales is a dynamic leader in the energy sector, currently serving as the Houston Energy Hub and Office Leader at Marsh McLennan. In this pivotal role, she spearheads the growth of the Energy & Power (E&P) Specialty Practice, including Renewables, while executing Marsh Specialty’s strategic imperatives across the Central Zone.

In addition to her leadership in Houston, Susan is a vital member of the U.S. Energy & Power Specialty Leadership Team. She has played an instrumental role in transforming the service delivery model for the first time in nearly two decades, implementing significant changes that enhance the experience for clients, colleagues, and industry partners alike. Her influence extends globally as a member of the Global Energy & Power Executive Committee, where she helps oversee the only globally integrated team of Energy & Power Specialty Consultants, Brokers, and Risk Engineers. This team, comprising 900 colleagues, operates in every market, optimizing the largest single portfolio of energy and power risk in the world today.

Before joining Marsh McLennan, Susan held a key leadership position at AIG as the U.S. Head of Energy Casualty. In this capacity, she was responsible for strategy execution, guideline development, production, and talent development, serving as both the internal and external voice of the casualty energy business.

In her current responsibilities, Susan is dedicated to fostering a unified Marsh culture within the Houston office. She actively recruits and promotes the Marsh brand in the Houston community, encourages growth across teams, and maximizes collaboration opportunities across Marsh McLennan’s diverse businesses. As a member of the senior leadership team within the U.S. E&P Practice, she develops and executes broader plans and objectives, prioritizing alignment in resourcing and collaboration models to drive growth and enhance client outcomes.
