Responsibilities

Jeremy is the Global Claims Leader for Natural Resources (Energy | Power | Renewables | Mining) for Aon.  While based in Houston with the other Aon Natural Resources management, he leads our various global and industry teams of claims professionals for Aon within Natural Resources.

He is directly involved in some claims, while providing leadership and mentorship to his global team.  He assists clients with claims related matters both pre-loss and post-loss.

Experience

His Energy Insurance career spans over 30 years, and four countries, having lived & worked in Houston, Calgary, Paris, and London.  Prior to joining Aon, Jeremy had 10 years in the field, as a specialty, Technical Energy Loss Adjuster, based in Houston.

Jeremy started in the Insurance industry as a young Energy Claims broker in Lloyds of London back in 1987 with the world’s leading Offshore Energy broker at the time.  He was later seconded to the Paris office, as part of the Marine & Energy claims team, before returning to London for a further 8 years claims broking in Lloyds.  In 1998, Jeremy transferred internally to the Energy office in Calgary, Canada, where he worked as a Natural Resources’ placing broker.  In 2005 Jeremy assumed the role of Energy Claims Leader for Marsh Canada, where he led a team of Energy Claims brokers, in the negotiation of numerous high dollar value claims settlements, and assisted many C-Suites, through complex claims settlements with Insurers, and third parties.

Expertise

Jeremy’s expertise includes a technical engineering-driven approach to causal investigation of claims and is skilled in seeking solutions to complex Claims.  He has the ability to craft pragmatic claims solutions across a wide array of the Natural Resources insurance sector.  He has driven negotiations for multi-national Energy, Onshore & Offshore, Upstream Midstream Downstream, Power, Renewables, Mining, related losses and claims settlements around the globe.  These include both Property, Liability, and Environmental claims.

Education

Jeremy studied Geography and Meteorology at college in UK.  He has earned a number of insurance industry qualifications and technical certifications. Certified for Offshore work (HUET) and Wind Turbine access.

Affiliations

Jeremy holds several Licenses in Texas, USA, Canada and Lloyds.  In addition, Jeremy is certified by AODC, Safe Rig (Land & Offshore) and holds valid OPTIO HUET offshore helicopter training certificates, allowing offshore travel.
